Eagles produce finishing kick

This wasn't so much a football game as it was a grueling marathon. After stubbing their toes several times, falling down several others and falling behind by seemingly miles, not yards, Southern Miss's Golden Eagles somehow outlasted Virginia in a 3-hour, 42-minute test of endurance and grit.
"Wow!" was the word USM coach Larry Fedora used after his Eagles found the energy to celebrate the hard-fought, hot-and-humid-as-Hades victory after being thoroughly out-played for two and a half quarters.
Wow, indeed.
