Gisele Bundchen blasts Pats WRs

Gisele Bundchen blasts Pats WRs

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was so upset over dropping a crucial pass late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 21-17 loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, he nearly started crying at the podium.

Welker isn’t going to get any pity from quarterback Tom Brady‘s wife, Gisele Bundchen, though.

After her prayers for a Patriots’ championship went unanswered, Bunchen lashed out at the team’s receiving corps for failing to haul in her husband’s passes. While waiting for an elevator at Lucas Oil Stadium, Bundchen was being heckled by Giants fans when she spoke to people in her group.

Bernie: Belichick & Brady — the best?

Bernie: Belichick & Brady — the best?

INDIANAPOLIS — It began as a violent but routine NFL hit, with New York Jets linebacker Mo Lewis breaking free to slam New England quarterback Drew Bledsoe to the ground.

Little did anyone realize the true magnitude of the blow. Lewis not only rearranged Bledsoe’s shoulder, but he dramatically changed the course of NFL history.

The date was Sept. 30, 2001. When the injured Bledsoe checked out, an obscure second-year quarterback named Tom Brady entered in relief, and the Patriots lost a 10-3 yawner.

Married Women Prefer to Have Affair with Eli Manning over Tom Brady

Married Women Prefer to Have Affair with Eli Manning over Tom Brady

Tom Brady is the golden boy quarterback who has the good looks to complement his supreme talents on the football field. He was able to land supermodel Gisele Bundchen as his wife, resulting in most of the male population in the country dying to trade places with him. Despite what he has to offer, married women say they’d prefer to have an affair with Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

56% of women polled on the Ashley Madison website say they’d rather have an affair with Eli because of his “boy next door” looks. They say Eli would be less of a hot head, and believe he’d be easier to relate to.

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick make magic together

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick make magic together

FOXBORO — Patriots [team stats] coach Bill Belichick isn’t interested in statistics. Neither is his quarterback.

Belichick doesn’t care for sacks or yards allowed, and Tom Brady [stats] isn’t into passer rating or yards per completion.

Their pride is built in simpler ways.

“Anything that’s associated with winning, I’m proud of,” Belichick said.

Belichick and Brady — together — have done a lot of that.

“It’s good to win with him and all the rest of our players,” Bel-ichick said, immediately after earning a fifth AFC Championship. “If that’s more than somebody else did, I don’t really care about that, but it’s nice to be able to win with him and the rest of our team.”

Dedication has made Brady one of the best ever

Dedication has made Brady one of the best ever

FOXBORO — Deion Branch was talking about the player who dresses adjacent to him in the Patriots’ locker room at Gillette Stadium. According to Branch, that guy, Tom Brady, is different than anyone else in the entire National Football League.

“He thinks he can be one of the boys,” Branch said. “But he’s the face of the NFL. It is what it is, and he deserves that. He deserves that position. That comes from all the hard work he’s put in. He deserves that.”

What is happening this week is proving Branch correct. It is only cementing Brady’s place among the sport’s elite.

Brady once again has guided his team into the AFC Championship Game. He has become as much celebrity as a football star, and he is being treated that way. He has had to deal not only with questions about how he hopes his team will beat Baltimore on Sunday, but also about what the last 11 years have been like since he was the 199th pick in the 2000 draft.

Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady interesting enough without religious overtones

Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady interesting enough without religious overtones

Pardon me . . .

There, I just Tebowed at my desk. Thirty seconds worth.

I didn’t ask the Lord or Allah or Buddha or even Joel Osteen for help.

I simply took a half-minute to clear my mind, relax, fire up and be thankful that I get to write a sports column in a city I love, on topics that inspire me, with opinions that are worked from six decades of trying to figure out this thing called life.

I even enjoy the negative stuff, like, say, this unsigned note that just came in the mail from a reader, hand-scrawled on yellow legal paper: “Keep the God-damned Money out of it! — That’s what ruined professional sports — YOU JACK ASS!’’

Kiszla: Tebow, Broncos can’t keep pace with real Patriots offense

Kiszla: Tebow, Broncos can’t keep pace with real Patriots offense

Back to the future won’t take the Broncos back to the Super Bowl.

Quarterback Tim Tebow got schooled on Sunday by New England’s Tom Brady. The lesson was as hard as the 41-23 defeat suffered by Denver.

The Broncos cannot win an NFL championship in the 21st century with a playing style grounded in the 1950s.

The six-game winning streak that had everyone from presidential candidate Rick Perry to the “Saturday Night Live” cast talking Tebow was built on faith, magic and old-school football values.

Bill Belichick throws a curveball by picking Ryan Mallett

Bill Belichick throws a curveball by picking Ryan Mallett

FOXBORO — Last night, with one pick, Bill Belichick blew the lid off Radio City Music Hall.

Pass rusher? Nah, forget that. The Patriots [team stats] coach likes what he has in-house. He likes his young group of linebackers so much that he didn’t feel compelled to make a move. At least, that’s what he claimed after last night’s proceedings. We’ll respectfully disagree. But we’ve been beating that drum for a while. So let’s move onto the pick that makes Belichick one of the shrewdest operators in the business.

Who’s No. 3? Roethlisberger or Rodgers?

Who’s No. 3? Roethlisberger or Rodgers?

Brady vs. Manning? Who cares.

The two have established themselves as among the best quarterbacks in history. I’m more concerned about the best quarterback not named Brady or Manning. Now, some people believe that Brady and/or Manning have been surpassed. But for the sake of this argument, let’s give the appropriate deference to those two. Assuming Brady nails down his second M.V.P. award next month, a safe bet, the two will have won the last four awards.
